who makes up the summer staff?

The summer staff at Camp Cale includes male and female Christian role models ages 16-24. Summer staff consists of 12-18 staff members who will work our summer program. There are two positions; Senior Camp Staff and Summer Camp Staff. We are currently hiring for Summer Camp Staff. Those who can commit to the full summer will be considered first. Job duties include supervising campers, running programming, and ultimately helping to make summer camp a wonderful experience for our campers! Room and meals are provided throughout the summer.

What is the Pay Scale?

Pay will start at $450 a week for those 18 and older working all summer.

Pay will start at $400 a week for those 18 and older working part of the summer.

Pay will start at $350 a week for those under 18 working all summer.

Pay will start at $300 a week for those under 18 working part of the summer.


What is the time commitment?

The summer camp season is eight weeks. One week of training and seven weeks of camp. Summer Camp Staff will not work day camp unless asked to. You will work the weeks you have committed to! A typical camp week begins at 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon with a staff briefing and ends after the campus is clean and cleared Friday after lunch. Summer Camp Staff may have the option to be scheduled on weekends to work programming for rental groups for additional pay.


What does a week of camp look like?

Campers come in at 4:00pm on Sunday and leave between 9:00-10:30am Friday. Staff will stay until Friday around 2:00pm for cleaning and debrief. A typical day starts with wake up time at 7:15am and activities ending around 8:45pm each night with showers and bedtime after! what about weekends?

You will have Saturdays off. You can go home or stay on campus, but you will need to provide your own meals. Some Saturdays may offer work opportunities for which you will receive compensation for in addition to your regular camp compensation.



what kind of training will I receive?

Training will include everything you need to be successful during the summer. We will teach you how to facilitate all of your activities, give your testimony, lead devotions, and how to handle homesickness. We will do everything we can to prepare you for a great summer!

There is an opportunity for a $50 per week stipend if you are already lifeguard certified. If you are interested in becoming lifeguard certified we offer a class and will cover the payments. If you take the class through Cale you will not receive the $50 per week stipend as Cale will pay for your training.


what will I need before I come to work for the summer?

All summer staff are required to be First Aid/CPR/AED certified before coming to camp.

What is the cellphone policy?

We have a no cellphone policy for all summer staff. Phones will be turned in on Sunday and returned Friday after cleanup.
